I love outdoor ceremonies and this one was at a really nice place right in my neighborhood. Vino in the valley was a perfect backdrop for some
fun photos and a short but beautiful wedding ceremony right at the river followed by some glasses of wine.
We had a big party at the Gaslight around Ellsworth WI including some Scotish bag pipe sounds and a live band playing.
Did I mention the couple drove the Harley bike to the reception? What action!
Thanks to Kristen and Joshua (Lucky) and a very special thank you
to my dear friend Chris Houltberg out of Minneapolis – for a fabulous 2nd photographer job.

Tera and Chris are from North Dakota and Alaska and just came back from a wedding in Las Vegas and asked me to photograph their trash the dress session near Minneapolis.
*yeah I know, it all sounds confusing but hang in there:
We had a great time and I have to tell you: Those guys are cool.
They got even cooler after a jump in the pond. Thanks for being fearless and trusting me with my artistic vision! Cheers – Steve

I love to photograph for couples who are in tune with me and just let me do whatever I want and trust me 100% with my wedding photography. Nick and Alyssa are a modern St.Paul, MN couple who are just like that. We had a very modern, unusual engagement session in Minneapolis, MN and so I couldn’t wait for their wedding in Eau Claire. They chose the fantastic Florian Gardens and couldn’t have been luckier with the weather. I brought Drew Carlson along who helped me with 2nd shooting and did a great job.
Thanks to Nick and Alyssa who made this day and event fun and nice to work at and thanks to their families and easy going wedding party.

What started at our nice spa in River Falls was just the beginning of a long and eventful day full of action and sweet details. We stopped at Sheila’s grandfathers house (pics with the curtains) got a big wedding ceremony in Prescott and reception in Baldwin. 11 hours of fun, sweat, beauty, dance and emotions. (well, it was my sweat and their beauty just to get that right..)
Mike is a photographer himself, so that was nice for me since he appreciates good photos and understands when the shutter has to be adjusted. Sheila was beautiful and one of the most calm brides I’ve ever worked with.
Thank you for having me!

So I did a long trash the dress session with a young couple from Sandiego CA.
Trash the dress sessions (I call them Apres-Session) don’t necessary have to leave your dress burned up or full of mud but can be very artistic and something you don’t have time for during your wedding day. They are a little crazy and we do them anywhere you like. Enjoy.

Amy and Erik like to ski. So we’re automatically friends since me as a Swiss guy knows what mountains are!
They came to the midwest from Portland, to celebrate with both families and friends at Amy’s family’s home in Barron, WI. Perfect setting.
You know you’re in Wisconsin when at 10 pm the DJ announced that 200 people should go into the house (kitchen and living room) – and everyone yells “Tornado! Yeahhh !! Whoohooo!Party!” – Such a great family and wedding. Thanks guys. (BTW, you know I made it home if you read this

My wife, my daughter and me took a few days out of our busy schedules to go visit the East Coast again. We are expanding our wedding photography business to South Carolina. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer or portrait photographer in Charleston, Daniel Island and Isle Of Palms (www.iop.net), Myrtle Beach or Mount Pleasant, we are the destination wedding photographer for you. It will be a great addition to our Minneapolis (www.minneapolis.org) and Zurich (Switzerland) (www.zuerich.com) market.
We stayed at the wonderful Wild dunes hotel “The Boardwalk Inn (www.wilddunes.com) that caters many wonderful weddings and beach ceremonies. We also fell completely in love with Charleston, the holy city of the south. Check it out here if you haven’t been there yet. (www.charlestoncity.info) or (www.charleston.com). We love the south.

A few month ago, Becky came over with Lee and their son LJ for a few maternity photos in the studio. I thought it’s time now to post these images on my blog
to show that I’m also doing family photos. You can do a session like this in our studio or outdoors in the fresh air. BTW, it was a boy and his name is Samuel-he will love these images one day!
